Laura and Leo were married in a small ceremony at Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I love when a couple gets ready together. They were all smiles and excited to share their day with family and friends. It was a little misty and overcast in true Maine weather, but they were not deterred. After they exchanged vows we went for a walk to the beach and watched the sailboats from the sand.
Dana and Rory's Wedding | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer
Dana and Rory were married on a sunny day in May. The bride got ready in her childhood home and was surrounded by her family and friends all morning. They had their ceremony on an open lawn with a beautiful lake behind them and a custom wedding arch built by the groom. They celebrated under a white tent into the night!
My Friday Five | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer
Hey, hi. hello and happy Friday! We made it! As the weather gets warmer and warmer here in Maine, i’m trying every possible way to stay cool while 9 months pregnant. Lots of beach trips this week with my legs in ice cold water to cool me down. Ready or not, here is my Friday Five!
Lemon Everything!: I’m on a citrus kick currently. I made this cake this week for the second time. I also made these Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and my 4-year-old gobbled them up without asking for maple syrup. The only thing I’d suggest is to rub the zest into the sugar before mixing it all up. It really brings the max lemon flavor out.
New sleepwear! My summer sleepwear has seen better days. I bought this dress! It’s light enough to sleep in and flowy enough to keep things breezing during a hot summer morning.
Everything Everywhere All at Once: I don’t watch a lot of movies these days, but Joe and I were really intrigued by this one. A sci-fi action movie around the metaverse with a touch of humor. It held our interest and I really enjoyed the ending. Give it a go!
First Time Manager Tips: Because of the last two-plus years I haven’t gotten the chance to work on my management skills. Working with a second photographer takes a lot of work. You need to communicate well and have clear expectations to ensure that each couple’s vision is carried out. This was a nice refresher as we kick off the 2022 wedding season.
Amsterdam Gardens Travel Guide: My home garden looks sad due to me not feeling great at the beginning of my pregnancy last fall, so I’ve been looking for inspiration for bulb planting this fall. This was a great place to start.
With the last wedding season being so busy due to reschedules and new weddings last year I didn’t post any weddings. You’ll start to see them come through over the next few weeks, especially because this season I’ll be taking it slow due to the new bambino. Check them out and tell me what you think!
Meredith & Andrew’s Wedding | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer | Kennebunkport, Maine
Meredith and Andrew’s Wedding in Kennebunkport, Maine was a dream. They couldn’t have asked for better weather and watching them soak in every second of the day they planned was tremendous. Would you get married in Kennebunkport, Maine?
Brianna and Josh| Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer | Fort Williams Park | Portland Head Light
Writing this blog post in January and thinking of how hot it was in Portland in August makes me remember why I live in Maine. It was HOT for this shoot, but Brianna and Josh didn’t let it bother them. We walked all over Fort William Park, near the Portland Head Light, and they told me their engagement story and their plans for the future. Cheers to Brianna and Josh!
The Gonzalez Family | Portland, Maine Family and Wedding Photographer
I met The Gonzalez’s at a Christmas tree farm near their house. They wanted some family photos for their Christmas cards and some photos as a family of 3 before they became a family of 4. It was such a magical place for a photoshoot. The session ended with me running and jumping around the farm with their daughter. Happy Holidays!
